Mariana Filaretou (b. Athens; active New York, Paris)

is and has been working across film, archival practice, curation and radio production. Her academic training includes a BFA in Studio Art from New York University, concluded in May 2025. Her involvement with these environments reflects a steady interest in how media is stored, described, made usable. 
Her employment history includes current radio production and hosting at La Station – Gare des Mines (StationStation Radio) in Paris and past experience at Radio Free Brooklyn and WNYU in New York. 
Archival and curatorial support in the Film Department at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA); production assistance for the Thessaloniki International Film Festival; and current head production and technical support for the EJC Foundation in Kalamata.
Additional roles include cinema attendant work at the iconic Paris Theater; poster design and screen-printing for Spectacle Theater; gallery assistance at Shin Gallery; fieldwork as a technician with the Archaeological Department of the University of Crete at Eleutherna; and an early film internship with Central Athens Film Productions. These positions have involved routine tasks related to media handling, archival organization, production work, audience services, web design and institutional operations.

Amid a MoMA-funded research trip to Poland, she examined Polish poster design of the Soviet period, investigating both state-distributed materials and independent studios; involving routine documentation, communication with film specialists, and the identification of materials relevant to future curatorial interest.
